Mid-flight

I’m pretty sure as I type, this sweet family is on their way back home to Hong Kong. A few years ago they hired Gary as their wedding photographer. Lucky for us, they decided to stick with the f8 team now that they have a baby boy to photograph! He definitely made us work but I think the results were worth it. Not only does he have an amazing smile and loved my (big) hair, but he has possibly one of the best laughs I have ever heard come out of such a small baby!

Sisters

This sweet family was visiting all the way from Washington D.C. and we were able to get this hot, sweaty shoot done just a few hours before they left to go back home. The last time I saw them was back in January so it was great to catch up, even if it was 105 degrees!  We had lots of laughs together, especially about the dog you see below. He did not belong to me, or them…in fact, we weren’t quite sure just who he belonged to. He kept hanging out with us and his super-cool sunglasses!

The best models of the day, however, were these two sisters. They have an incredible bond and it was wonderful being a part of it and capturing a few little moments between them.

Thanks so much for choosing me (again) to photograph your family. I am so honored! And a special hello to Molly, thanks for following the blog!!

Mary + Jarry = baby Madee

Recently, I had the honor of sharing some magical moments with proud parents Mary and Jarry as baby Madee arrived at 5:48 AM.  I am so happy for them!

Many thanks to the wonderful staff at the Baylor All Saints Medical Center for being great to work with in allowing me to photograph these precious moments.

Here’s a short slideshow along with some personal faves:

Double team

I always love it when things work out so that Brenda and I can go on a shoot together, especially a newborn one. They may be tiny, but they tend to require lots of behind-the-scenes work in order to achieve some of the shots we want to get.  It’s nice to have someone there who can read my mind and vice versa.

We met Charlie a few days ago. He got our name from his big cousin and we’re so glad he did! Charlie was an absolute joy to work with, as were his Mom and Dad. We hope they love the results that we got after putting five people to work on this itty bitty baby.

Bren has the patience to nail this type of shot every time:

and this one too…

I tend to snap some natural moments and sneak in a few poses too every now and then.

To Charlie’s parents, thank you, for such a wonderful shoot!

And to everyone else…we are booking up quickly for the next few months so if you are planning ahead and thinking about your holiday cards, it’s best to book now. Also, if you are wanting to book a newborn session, you don’t have to wait until after the baby is born. Contact us ahead of time so we can have an approximate date for your shoot and allow more time to arrange our schedules so we can both be there!

A smile…

Even though newborn smiles aren’t considered “real,” they are still incredibly adorable. This shot might be my favorite from the session and it was one of those unplanned-in-between shots.

This sweet baby girl had an amazing nursery…every little detail had been taken care of and every little pink piece of clothing had been perfectly placed. I loved her room!

And here she is wearing a sweet little hat from Baby Twist Knits.

Thank you, David and Lauren, for sharing your sweet girl with me!
